Italian lifestyle: apartment design in Milan

Well woe is me! I’d like to see what Lorenza Luti would think of my apartment in Italy which is possibly smaller than hers and decorated with the landlord’s furniture which includes wobbly wardrobes and a black leather lounge.
This is one of the more fluffy articles I’ve ever read about Italian life and design, from the Chicago Tribune, which certainly hasn’t goaded me into feeling sorry for the subject matter.

In fact this is nothing more than a story on a rich kid using family connections for both career and furnishings.
A couple of points to note: many Italians inherit houses, or floors to make an apartment in, from their parents and are therefore never burdened with rent or mortgages.
If you don’t have a house in inheritance then you can expect to live at home for a long long time.
Mortgage is not a word many Italians are familiar with.
