Italian industrial design inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s engineering genius

An attentive study of Leonardo da Vinci’s engineering projects has enabled Alessandro Passi to translate Da Vinci’s genius designs into daily objects for the house, cosmetics, and communication.
Leonardoidea pays tribute to the scientific and engineering rigour and genius of Da Vinci, creating functional objects such as a pepper grinder inspired by the legendary criptex – a cylindrical container made from rotating rings to keep private documents.

The study of an alembic has resulted in a coffee machine, the flying machine into a cruet and the armoured vehicle into watches.
It’s incredible how Leonardo da Vinci is still so modern and relevant in today’s Italian design culture.
