A Palestinian man, identified as Mujahed Azmi, was wounded and tied to the front of an Israeli military vehicle during an operation in the West Bank’s Jenin city, an event captured and spread on social media on a recent Saturday. Reuters authenticated the footage. The Israeli military admitted that their personnel disregarded regulation and attached the man to one of their vehicles.
During the operation, shots were exchanged, injuring a suspect who was later apprehended, according to a military statement. It also confessed that the actions seen in the video were not consistent with the standards of the military, promising a full investigation and punishment for any found misconduct.
Incoming reports suggest that Azmi was handed over to medical professionals for care following his detainment. Eyewitness testimony and corroborated footage authenticated by Reuters confirmed the occurrence and location in Jenin, showing a man bound to a moving vehicle.
Azmi’s family claim that an arrest operation took place during which Azmi was injured and subsequently taken by the army, in spite of the family’s request for an ambulance.
The incident occurred against a backdrop of rising tension in the West Bank, which has intensified in the wake of the conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. The area has seen increased military operations against extremist groups, instances of Jewish settlers attacking Palestinian communities, and a surge in violent Palestinian street encounters.
