Irish Woman Killed in NY Bar Attack

In a regrettable incident on Saturday night, a 41-year-old woman from County Longford, Ireland, lost her life after a purported knife assault at a Queens bar in New York City. The victim was employed as a mixologist at the Céilí House, a well-known pub in Maspeth, an area recognised for its sizable Irish populace.

Around 6.34pm local time, which was 11.34pm in Ireland, the emergency services got a call of an attack underway at the pub situated on Grand Avenue. According to initial police reports, two casualties were discovered at the venue – a woman with a severe neck laceration and a male with similar wounds to his back and neck.

Both victims were rushed to Elmhurst Hospital by the emergency responders. The woman, however, could not survive and was declared dead by the hospital staff. Information regarding the identity, age or medical condition of the male victim has not been disclosed.

As of now, no suspects have been apprehended and the probing is still underway. This incident marks the second recent instance of an Irish woman being involved in a stabbing in Queens. In 2023, a 39-year-old female diner staff, Denise Morgan from County Louth, was fatally assaulted by an ex-lover.
