What should be noted about the forthcoming event?
There will be a considerable Irish presence at this year’s tournament, featuring five professional and eight amateur Irish golfers. Anna Foster and Anabel Wilson will be making their professional debuts, alongside Leona Maguire, Lauren Walsh and Olivia Mehaffey, and amateur golfers including Róisín Scanlon, Kate Lanigan, Emma Fleming, Kate Dillon, Olivia Costello, Aideen Walsh, Canice Screen and Anna Abom.
The previous two tournaments were conducted at Dromoland Castle, Co Clare after a decade-long break. Last year’s tournament attracted more than 31,000 viewers who saw Denmark’s Smilla Tarning Sønderby walk away with the championship.
A grand prize fund of €400,000 is at stake.
Who are the key players to look out for?

Leona Maguire, a player from Cavan, didn’t fair too well at the Olympics held in Paris. After the Olympics, she competed in the Scottish Open where she finished with a score of nine over par, leaving her 24 shots behind the tournament’s victor. However, during last week’s British Open, the 29-year-old golfer put up more of a fight, finishing four over and making it halfway through the cut. Maguire is a favourite amongst event attendees and the local spectators might just be the motivation she needs to bounce back.

Her Solheim Cup partner, England’s Georgia Hall, boasts a record of four victories across the LET and LPGA, which include the 2018 British Open. It has recently been made official that she was chosen by Team Europe’s captain Suzann Pettersen as a wildcard for the upcoming Solheim Cup set to take place in Virginia the following month.

On the other side, Anne van Dam from the Netherlands, aged 28, is the owner of five LET titles and is looking to settle scores at this tournament after losing in a three-player playoff to Sønderby in the prior year.

The scheduled timings for the games will be released in the near future and will be made available here once made public.

Any attendees wishing to purchase tickets, they can do so at the venue (only card payments accepted), with all car parking for spectators being complimentary. Tickets are also available for buying online. The Thursday and Friday general admission is priced at €20, increasing to €25 for the weekend. For those wishing to attend for the week, a pass is available for €75, whereas a weekend pass is priced at €40. Attendees who are 16 years old or younger are allowed entry at no cost, though they must have a valid ticket.

This Wednesday, a Pro-Am event will be held. Anyone can enter, free of charge. There are slated to be some recognisable figures participating.

In terms of the weather, it’s expected to be dry and overcast for the full four days with light breezes. Thursday afternoon is expected to be quite windy though this should calm by Sunday. The forecasted temperatures are mid-range teens, with the potential to reach close to 20 degrees on Sunday.
