Irish Diplomatic Mission Resumes Operations in Tehran

Dear Sir/Madam,

The Prime Minister of Ireland has recently justified the decision to reestablish our embassy in Iran, as reported on 13th October. Whilst we have engaged in dialogues about their basic human rights concerns? Our Head of State has extended congratulations to their newly appointed president. The Irish nation seems comfortable to reinstate diplomatic relations, provided women in the said nation abide by traditional regulations, dress modestly in public, respect archaic gender-based rules, and refrain from any dissent. During this period, however, our diplomatic connection with Israel has suffered a significant strain. It brings into question whether anyone, between Phoenix Park and Kildare Street, comprehend the phrase “being on the wrong side of history”.

Yours faithfully,
Peter Declan O’Halloran,
Belturbet, Co Cavan.
