Ireland has announced their lineup for the upcoming second World Rugby U20 Championship game against Georgia, scheduled for a 1pm kick-off on Thursday. Having already achieved an impressive victory over Italy on Saturday in Cape Town in the first match of Group B, the Irish squad hopes to maintain this winning streak as they take on Georgia at the Danie Craven stadium.
Key members of the team include Ben O’Connor, Davy Colbert, and Ruben Moloney, the latter set to make his debut for Ireland’s U20’s in the back three. Sam Berman retains his spot at outside centre and will be joined by Hugh Gavin at inside centre. Sean Naughton is slated to play at outhalf, with Oliver Coffey in the nine position.
The pack comprises Jacob Boyd, Stephen Smyth and Andrew Sparrow in the front row, and James McKillop will join captain Evan O’Connell in the second row. Sean Edogbo, Max Flynn and Luke Murphy are forming the unchanged back row.
Newcomer Mikey Yarr is also expected to make his debut off the bench as he joins Emmet Calvey, Patreece Bell, Alan Spicer and Brian Gleeson as the forward replacements. Rounding out the list of replacements are Tadhg Brophy, Jack Murphy, and Finn Treacy, making up a formidable match day 23. The Irish U20 side hopes to secure a second win in the Championship with this talented lineup.
