Prime Minister Simon Harris of Ireland has reaffirmed his country’s support for Ukraine in its ongoing conflict with Russia. In a commemoration of Ukraine’s Independence Day, Mr Harris released a brief video on X, expressing that the Irish nation holds a deep sense of pride in standing alongside Ukrainians and will continue to do so until victory ensues.

Mr Harris also addressed the sizable population of Ukrainians who have sought refuge in Ireland after escaping their homeland. As per governmental records, there were 108,540 such individuals in July. He added, “You are part of our European family, and we gratefully anticipate the day Ukraine becomes a respected member of the European Union.”
Specifically acknowledging the Ukrainians who now call Ireland home, Mr Harris extended well wishes and reminded them that their contributions are invaluable. In his final address, he wished continued resilience, courage, and victory to the Ukrainian people, concluding with, “Slava Ukraine.”
