Ireland Opens Women’s Rugby vs Japan

World Rugby has officially revealed the Pool timetable for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025. Ireland’s first match will be against Japan at Franklin’s Gardens in the coming August. The Irish team, coached by Scott Bemand, was recently allocated to Pool C, where they will compete with reigning champions New Zealand, Japan and Spain. Their first match with team Sakura Fifteen is due on Sunday, August 24 in Northampton with a 12 pm kick-off.

Following this, Ireland will square off against Spain for their second engagement at Franklin’s Gardens on Sunday, August 31 at noon. Their final Pool stage match will be against the Black Ferns, hosted at the Brighton and Hove Albion Stadium on Sunday, September 7 with a 2.45 pm kick-off.

From each Pool, the leading two teams will move forward to the competitive quarter-finals. Rugby fans will be allowed to apply for match tickets from 11 am on Tuesday, November 5, until 11 am on Tuesday, November 19.
