Intel’s Advanced Talks for Irish Facility

Intel is purportedly in the final stages of discussions with Apollo Global Management regarding a substantial investment of over £9 billion (€10 billion) to finance a new microchip production hub in Ireland. This exclusive deal between the two corporate giants, as reported by The Wall Street Journal, might be finalised in the upcoming weeks, assuming there are no unanticipated roadblocks.

The spokesperson for Intel Ireland was promptly available for commentary, following a series of previous reports suggesting that the tech behemoth was sourcing financial aid for the aforementioned project from diverse quarters.

The Wall Street Journal also reported that several other alternative investment firms, such as KKR and infrastructure investor Stonepeak, were potential contenders before Apollo emerged as a frontrunner. The previous year, Intel inaugurated its most progressive global chip production site at its Leixlip headquarters, therefore, doubling its manufacturing capability in Ireland.
