Indianapolis to stay on MotoGP calendar for the next three years

Despite some previous doubts on whether Indianapolis would remain on the GP calendar after the confirmation of the Circuit of the Americas venue in Texas and the fact that Dorna wanted to hold back-to-back races with the Laguna Seca round to avoid expensive travel costs, the contract extension was finally confirmed today and Indianapolis Motor Speedway will continue to host MotoGP races for the next three years, until at least 2014.

This will make three races hosted in the US and next year’s GP at the iconic Brickyard is scheduled for Aug.
17-19, 2012, a week earlier than this year.
