India records the highest daily death toll from Covid-19 in the world

The Nitish Kumar government announced that the Bihar Health Department in eastern India revised the total deaths related to the virus on Wednesday to more than 9,400 from about 5,400.

Hospitality sectors are also rewinding their lor or doors, but in stages to avoid a spike in infections. The Delhi Metro began working on Monday at half capacity, while the city’s shops are also opening every other day to limit the slump.

So far India has administered more than 230 million doses of a vaccine, but less than four per cent of its 1.4 billion people have been fully vaccinated.
