“Indeed Cuts 1,000 Global Jobs, Includes Ireland”

Indeed, the global online recruitment platform, has disclosed plans to slash 1,000 jobs worldwide, equating to around 8 percent of their overall workforce, which will likely impact their Irish branch. Chris Hyams, the Chief Executive Officer of Indeed, disclosed in a recent press statement that Irish workers would learn on Monday evening if they would enter a one-month consultation period about their future with the firm. Despite this, he admitted that the majority of cuts will be primarily focused in the United States, mostly involving roles in research and development and go-to-market teams, unlike previous layoffs.

This comes as the second wave of job cuts Indeed has implemented in the past two years, after the company laid off 2,200 positions globally last year, with more than 200 of these cuts being in Dublin.

Hyams expressed his sadness in delivering the news of the staff reductions, highlighting that the layoffs were aimed at simplifying operations within the organisation, contrary to the previous year where the aim was cost-saving. He indicated that the move was tailored to make decision-making quicker and easier within the organisation, contributing to effective revenue and employment growth. No further information was provided as a spokesperson for Indeed was unavailable for comment.
