Impact of Climate Change on the Travel Sector

Dear Editor,

Dr. Gavin Daly, in his letter penned on 15th of October, made a reference to Eoghan O’Mara Walsh’s assertion that the initial transatlantic flight fuelled by purported sustainable aviation fuel should be regarded as commendable.

However, following the radio promotion of this flight, the UK Advertising Standards Authority deemed it necessary to prohibit the advertisement. They reasoned that the advertising failed to include the pertinent detail that the so-called sustainable fuel caused carbon emissions equivalent to those produced by typical jet fuel.

Yours faithfully,
From Dublin 1.
