“Ikea Opens New Facility in Sligo”

Ikea is set to broaden its operations in Ireland by launching a new plan-and-order point in Sligo county this Friday. This will be the sixth such Ikea venue in Ireland with plans to open another three within the following year. Situated in the Canopy, Sligo’s newest retail hotspot that recently saw a €1 million revamp and rebrand, the new facility will start operations at 9 a.m.

These plan and order outlets are specialised centres meant to offer dedicated kitchen and wardrobe planning services to customers. Here, consumers can avail of personalised advice on home furnishing as well as professional help for designing, purchasing, and installing their preferred Ikea home furniture items in bedrooms, kitchens, and other spaces.

Following the successful inauguration of the initial outlet in Naas in 2021, other outlets were subsequently established in Cork, Drogheda, Carlow, and the St Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre in Dublin.

Martyn Allan, the market manager at Ikea Ireland, expressed his delight at expanding Swedish design and affordable household solutions to new parts of Ireland where they’ve been absent so far. He stressed that these plan and order points are ideal for consumers seeking to create their dream kitchen without a hefty price tag, with a noteworthy 25-year guarantee on all kitchens.

Allan also stated that, in addition to kitchen planning, these locations are perfect for customers living far away from their Ballymun store, making purchasing new sofas, wardrobes or any other Ikea product viable and convenient.
