A man from Aughrim Hall, Aughrim, Co Wicklow, named Adam Slater, sadly passed away due to the injuries endured from a car accident last week. The 23-year-old young man was the driver in a two-vehicle collision that took place at 8.35am on the R753, between Ballinaclash and Aughrim on Tuesday, 24th September.
Following the accident, Adam was rushed to St Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries on Thursday. His death was publicly announced by his devastated family via a statement on rip.ie: “We are heartbroken to reveal the loss of our cherished son, Adam Slater of Aughrim Hall, Aughrim, Co Wicklow. Adam tragically passed on September 27th, 2024 following a devastating accident; he was under the dedicated care of the committed staff at St. Vincent’s University Hospital Dublin.”
They further shared, “Our beloved Adam, 23 years old and the eldest of our treasured triplets, was surrounded by friends and loved ones.” Adam leaves behind his parents Conor and Adrienne, his brother Billy, sister Emily, and girlfriend Hazel. The family will publicise the funeral arrangements at a later date.
A juvenile female who was travelling in the second vehicle was brought to Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin as a precautionary measure.
