“Hozier at Marlay Park: Essential Details”

This coming Friday, June 5th, Irish sensation Hozier will perform at a sold-out concert in Dublin’s Marlay Park, a gig slated right after his phenomenal achievement of topping the Irish singles chart with his global hit, Two Sweet from his latest EP, Unheard. The musician, hailing from Delgany, Co Wicklow, previously reached the second spot in Irish charts with his inaugural single, Take Me To Church, in 2014. Since that time, Hozier has been an influential figure in Irish and global music industries. His 2023 global headlining tour saw ticket sales surpassing one million.

If you have plans to join the Marlay Park event to enjoy Hozier’s performance, this guide provides you with everything you need to know. The concert is scheduled on Friday, July 5th, with gates opening at 4pm, leading up to a 5pm concert commencement. Joining Hozier on the bill are special guest performers Brittany Howard, Lord Huron, and Ye Vagabonds. Unfortunately, tickets have already sold out, although there might be a chance to grab one through Ticketmaster.ie, with a reiteration to only purchase from authorised outlets.

As for travel plans to and from the venue, patrons are advised to factor in at least three additional travel hours, given the level of delays that have been deemed as “unavoidable”. Attendees are urged to opt for the special event transportation services provided. Buses will be on service for fans commuting to Marlay Park’s premises. For bus pick-up and drop point details, check out evntz.ie. Additionally, Marathon is offering a bus route from Earlsfort Terrace in the city centre right up to the venue. Information on this service can be found on marathongroup.ie.

If you’re planning to take the Luas, hop on the green line starting from the city hub and alight at either Dundrum or Balally; both are about a 35-minute stroll away from Marlay Park. A shuttle bus service operating every half-hour from Dundrum Luas station to Marlay Park is available after 3.30pm. Tickets and passes for Dundrum Town Centre parking and the shuttle bus can be procured from Marathon.

Should you prefer to drive, be aware car parking space at Marlay Park is very scarce and has to be reserved beforehand at a cost of €25 per vehicle. The entrance to the car park is on College Road, accessible through Whitechurch Road, but entry is strictly for those who have booked in advance. It’s suggested by the event planners to use the SuperValu car park on Ballinteer Avenue for dropping off and picking up guests. Also note, road blocks around Marlay Park will be in place on the day of the event.

For attendees intending to hire a taxi, a designated passenger pickup zone will be established along Brehon Field Road after the concert. However, event organisers have pointed out that availability of taxis can’t be assured and they advise against taking rickshaws.

Visitors have been urged not to resort to illegal parking around Marlay Park, local residences, or within housing estates. Parking regulations will be strictly enforced, with penalties including clamping or towing of vehicles.
