Hospital Cuisine with Plant Ingredients

Dear Editor,

Over 1,200 medical specialists in the UK recently embarked on a movement recommending hospitals offer plant-based meals as a primary choice. This innovative approach would invigorate the quality of patient diets, offering considerable benefits health-wise. Additionally, it presents an opportunity for the NHS to make annual savings of £74 million, while simultaneously making progress towards tackling climate change. Could this be an approach worth considering for the HSE, with its potential to positively impact patient wellbeing, hospital finances, and environmental change alike? It’s a thought worth entertaining, is it not?

Best Regards,
Louisa Moss,
