According to Spanish website motocuatro.
com, Hiroshi Aoyama will be replacing still recovering Yonny Hernandez in next week’s final MotoGP round of the season at Valencia.
The former 2009 250cc World champion and MotoGP rider spent an unproductive year (he finished 18th overall) racing in World Superbikes this past season, but the Japanese rider will now get a chance to ride Avintia Blusens CRT machine.
Hernandez has been out of action since injuring his shoulder during the Motegi GP and missed both the Sepang and Phillip Island rounds, and in Australia he was replaced by Kris McLaren who didn’t make the 107% cut and had to skip the race.
Avintia Blusens has still to officially announce their CRT riders for the 2013 season, but Hector Barbera has confirmed that – even if he has yet to sign on the dotted line – he’ll be with the Spanish team and apparently team owner Raul Romero said that he wants both his riders to have some past history and experience in the MotoGP class.
