High Street of Enniskillen

Dear Editor,

I write with regards to Michael Harding’s recent recollection of Enniskillen (Life, 2nd October). He cites a ‘Main Street’, capitalising the initial letters. However, it’s important to note that Enniskillen’s central thoroughfare, though frequently referred to as ‘main street’, has undergone six name changes, listed as follows: Belmore Street, East Bridge Street, Townhall Street, High Street, Church Street, and Darling Street. Main Street, as he names it, has never been an official moniker.

Yours sincerely,
Cormac Meehan,
Bundoran,
Co Donegal
