Heineken has plans to increase the cost of a pint starting from June

Heineken Ireland has announced an imminent price rise of 6 cents per pint on its draught products starting June 4th. This affects its entire range, including its regular and non-alcoholic Heineken varieties and other brands like Coors, Birra Moretti, Murphys, Foster’s, Beamish, Tiger, Lagunitas IPA, and Cute Hoor. The beverage company stated that the price bump is a result of increased underlying costs. Heineken Ireland lamented that, despite their best efforts to enhance efficiency and cut expenses, it was untenable to soak up all the escalating costs. The decision to hike prices echoed a similar move from Diageo last month, that saw a 6 cent rise in a pint of Guinness, Carlsberg, and Smithwick, and a 9 cent increase for Guinness 0.0. As per the Central Statistics Office, the price of a pint of stout from licensed establishments had risen by 48 cents to a mean price of €5.64 last November. The cost of lager rose by 50 cents to €6.07on average, though prices fluctuate based on the venue.
