The Olympic Federation of Ireland has formally identified the team of 10 boxers who will be representing Ireland at the Paris Olympic Games this summer. Females will represent Ireland in every category of the competition which spans from July 27th to August 10th, 2024. The opening rounds of the boxing event are to be held at Arena Paris Nord, whilst the semi-finals and finals will take place at the Roland Garros Stadium.
Olympic champion, Kellie Harrington, is excited about her official inclusion, stating, “I’m eager to participate in my second Olympics. We’ve got a large team of 10 boxers, which is brilliant. The major distinction between this and the Tokyo Olympics is the presence of an audience and the resulting noise. We need to manage our emotions. I’m thrilled to be part of this landmark event, as it will be Team Ireland’s 100th year participating in the Olympic Games – so we’re already making history.”
