Funny chat up lines are useful when you are in a room with lots of strangers and want to start up a conversation with someone you have not been introduced to. try something like " How much does a polar bear weigh?" with the answer ready that it is "enough to break the ice." This will hopefully make the object of your attention smile and you can continue the conversation by introducing yourself and asking a little about them.
2. Flattery

Cute chat-up lines and chat-up lines that work only work if you deliver them with a bit of style and a very cheeky smile. Girls do love to be flattered with lines like "You’re so sweet, you could put sugar out of business." will make her groan but smile at the same time. She can’t really come back with a put down to such a cute line and if she smiles you can start chatting.
3. Getting it wrong

Funny put downs may seem amusing when you are with your mates but insulting others is not a good idea. "Is your name Cinderella because these look like the ugly sisters" is no way to impress a girl out with her friends. Dirty chat up lines must also be approached with caution. You risk total rejection and a sleazy image if you approach a girl by saying something like "nice legs what time do you open them."
4. Online
Good chat-up lines online have to catch the attention of the person you are chatting to. Be careful not to indulge in too much naughty chat or use rude chat-up lines unless you are positive that the person you are chatting to is an adult. Online dating chat is often more risque than face-to-face but is not a sex chat line.
5. Be yourself
Don’t try too hard to be witty or clever. the best chat up lines are sincere. Make eye contact across the room, smile and then just say hello, I’d really like to get to know you.
