Google Street View in Rome finds citizens hiding

Google Street View arrives in Rome and the locals disappear – at least that’s what reported by the Times, who recently noticed people ducking into bars and shops as a car with a huge rotating camera rolled through the city.
The newspaper put it into the context of the recent election to Rome mayor of Gianni Alemanno, a previous neo-Fascist.

Reports of people rushing indoors for coffee and lurking in doorways may seem a little exaggerated, especially as a Yellow Pages version of this Google technology already existed.
You can find maps, directions and virtual street scapes on Visual Pagine Gialle, including Rome, Florence and Milan.
