“Give praise to the humble dandelion.”

Dear Reader,

Perhaps recognizing the dandelion as our national emblem should duly be considered. Mother Nature appears to ardently endorse this, as she persistently and joyously disperses these lively blossoms across every accessible nook and cranny of our verdant, delightful territories. The dandelion’s undeniable vivacity aligns perfectly with our national temperament.

It’s worth noting that the shamrock, our current symbol, isn’t even a flowering plant. Given the multiple threats faced by Mother Nature these days, isn’t it time we offered a gesture of support, albeit symbolic? By celebrating her apparent favourite, the dandelion, as our national flower, we could lead the world in honoring nature’s choices.

Yours sincerely,

PAT McLAUGHLIN,
