Mr. CDC Armstrong from Belfast has pointed out an omission in the comprehensive essay on Gaza authored by Sally Rooney. Published on March 16th in the News Review section, the piece is titled “Killing in Gaza has been supported by Ireland’s ‘good friend’ in the White House”. Mr Armstrong contends that Sally Rooney has overlooked an essential aspect – Hamas.
He mentions that Rooney discusses an “official” Palestinian death toll without indicating that Hamas supplies these figures. In addition, Rooney mentions the Gaza health ministry but omits the fact that Hamas governs this department. He also highlights the glaring absence of reference to the organisation’s antisemitic views.
Moreover, Mr Armstrong expresses his shock at incomplete information regarding the events of October the previous year. Specifically, Sally Rooney fails to shed light on the occurrences of the seventh day of that particular month.
