The inquest into the death of Jamie Tighe Ennis is expecting a conclusion from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in the coming six months, officials at Dublin District Coroner’s Court have been informed. Detective Inspector Donncha Maguire expressed confidence in the timing during a recent court hearing. A resident of the Timbermill Apartments in Artane, Dublin, Ennis (24) tragically lost his life in a gunshot incident at a Moateview Avenue housing facility in Priorswood, Dublin, on 28th October 2017. The coroner, Dr Clare Keane, was requested for a six-month stay of proceedings under section 25 of the Coroner’s Act 1962 by Inspector Maguire. He confirmed that the Ennis family, though absent from court, were kept abreast of the case proceedings.
In other related news, the probe into the shooting of Zach Parker received a six-month postponement on Wednesday, acknowledging that further investigation is required. As per the court records, Parker (23), from Jugback Green, Applewood, Swords, Co Dublin, was fatally shot outside a Swords fitness centre on 17th January 2017. Addressing the Dublin District Coroner’s Court, Inspector Maguire shared that the investigation into Parker’s death was still underway and refrained from providing a completion timeline. A request for a six-month postponement was sanctioned by coroner Aisling Gannon. Parker’s family, absent from the courtroom, were already informed about the deferment request.
