Forces for peacekeeping dispatched by the United Nations

Dear reader,

Edward Horgan recently penned a thoughtful letter (published on August 7th) rightly stressing the importance of UN peacekeepers in Lebanon. Jean-Pierre Lacroix, the deputy chief of UN Peacekeeping, however, offered his own response to Mr Horgan’s enquiry.

Lacroix emphasised that the significance of UN peacekeepers operating along the Israel-Lebanon boundary has never been greater, amidst increasing concerns of conflict escalation in the Middle East.

Yours sincerely,
MAIRTIN O’FALLAMHAIN,
Litir Ceanainn, Co Dun na nGall.
