A few posts ago we had the chance to write about Firenze 2010 – Un anno ad arte, an important year -long event entirely devoted to art.
And now after two major exhibitions dedicated to Caravaggio and the powerful De Medici family, it’s the turn of Virtù d’amore, a fascinating art show on marriage rituals in the Renaissance period here in Italy.
Virtù d’amore will give visitors the unique opportunity to get a deep insight into the society of the 15th century and also get a closer look at important artworks by Filippino Lippi and Sandro Botticelli, two pivotal figures in Italian art history.
The exhibition also features the famous Cassone Adimari (by Giovanni di Ser Giovanny, Masaccio’s brother) which depicts an enchanting ball scene.
