Florence revokes Dante ‘s 700 -year-old exile

I’m pretty sure that many of you are familiar with the name of Dante, the great Italian poet, who in 1302 was forced to leave Florence and go into exile.
Anyhow things after seven hundred years may change for good; in fact the city council has just revoked the exile and would like to have Dante’s ashes back.

Unfortunately it seems that it won’t be a smooth ride at all since some members of the council are now against Dante’s return and one of the poet’s descendants angry at this rather foolish controversy has refused to accept the Fiorino d’oro, the city’s greatest honour , on Dante’s behalf.
A new chapter has just begun! Stay tuned!
