After almost two years of painstaking restoration work and € 200,000 spent along the way, Donatello’s David, one of the greatest masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance is back on display at the museum of Bargello in Florence.
This time, visitors will also have the opportunity to compare the original with a copy which has been collocated on a nearby column.
After all that’s what Lorenzo, the Magnificent used to see whenever he crossed the courtyard of his palazzo.
