“Five Detained in Kildare Petrol Bomb Seizure”

During a probe into organised crime in Co Kildare, law enforcement officers detained five individuals and confiscated 19 improvised incendiary devices. A car was stopped in the Carbury region of the county around 11:30 PM on Monday by detectives from the Leixlip police station, leading to the discovery of the make-shift explosives. Thereafter, four men were apprehended and held under the Criminal Justice Act of 1984 on Tuesday at a police station in Co Kildare. An additional man, in his late 40s and armed with a knife, who accosted the officers on site, was subsequently arrested and charged. The police remarked that inquiries are still in progress.
