Fisherman’s Body Recovered off Inishbofin

A man’s remains were located on the northern beach of Inishbofin island, off the seaside of Connemara, County Galway. The Malin Head Coast Guard received warning on Wednesday evening regarding a local angler and his craft lost at sea. The individual, a man in his 50s and resident of Inishbofin, was last seen on Tuesday. The coast guard deployed a helicopter from Sligo alongside two lifeboats from Clifden to aid in the mission. His body was discovered by two locals on the island’s north side just after Thursday’s stroke of midnight. The man’s remains were transported via lifeboat back to Clifden, arriving around 4.30am on Thursday.
