Fishamble Seeks Stolen Olivier Return

Fishamble theatre group, which is based in Dublin, has made a call for the return of its highly valued Olivier award. The award was taken along with several other items during a burglary at their Temple Bar location at the weekend. Releasing a statement on Tuesday, the group expressed that the Olivier award holds a special significance for them.
Fishamble theatre company, also known as The New Play Company, secured the Olivier award in 2016 for their heartfelt production “Silent”. The play tells the story of McGoldrig, a homeless man who’s suffered great losses, which was praised as a courageous, sombre yet wonderful creation. Both written and performed by Pat Kinevane and overseen by the director, Jim Culleton, the play gained international recognition.
Remarkably, Fishamble is the sole Irish theatre company who have ever been honoured with an Olivier award, which is considered as the apex of British theatre accolades.
Anyone holding details about the current location of the Olivier award is urged to get in touch with the Fishamble team. Contact should be made through their social media channels @fishamble, by calling 01 670 4018, or by visiting a Garda station.
