The Amalfi Coast and Salerno are very romantic places in Italy, no more so than on Saint Valentine’s Day.
This year the town of Cava dei Tirreni is taking Valentine celebrations one step further in an exhibition called “Una città per amare”, or “a city to love”.
On display will be gigantic photos of some of cinema’s world famous kisses.
The photos comes from the Bettmann archives, among some of the most important photographic collections in the world.
Some famous Italian ‘baci’ are on show: Marcello Mastroianni and Sophia Loren in “Il girasole”, Rodolfo Valentino and Nita Naldi in “Sangue e arena” from 1922.
In addition to the Italian divas are other famous kisses, with none other than Grace Kelly and James Stewart on show, too.
