“Failed Gangland Murder Attempt in Dublin”

Following a recent shooting incident in Dublin, authorities are regarding it as an botched murder attempt. The law enforcement officers, Gardaí, suspect a connection between the attack, which happened on Friday afternoon, and an ongoing gang rivalry in the area that has already resulted in two fatalities.

The shooting took place shortly after midday on Church Road, Mulhuddart. Shots were fired at a car in motion within the vicinity at the time. A passenger in the vehicle, known to the Gardaí due to suspected criminal activities, is suspected to have been the focal point of the shooter’s intentions.

Despite the discharge of several bullets, there were no injuries reported. The shooter, along with an accomplice, absconded from the location. Speculation suggests that their means of escape was a motorcycle.

This act of violence has raised alarms for the Gardaí, as it seems to be a part of an escalating feud between two criminal factions from west Dublin, a dispute that has been ongoing for multiple years. Several firearm incidents, including one that resulted in a death, although legal reasons prevent detailed disclosure.

Upon response to queries, Blanchardstown Gardaí stated they were “investigating the illegal discharge of a firearm on Church Road, Mulhuddart, shortly after mid-day on Friday”.

The police confirmed there were no casualties from the incident. A technical and forensic examination of the scene was carried out by local Gardaí, with the area now cleared.

The Gardaí have appealed to the public, specifically those who may have observed the incident, to come forward. They were particularly interested in accessing video recordings from the area during the time, such as dashcam footage.
