Dr Tildesley pointed it needs some weeks for case numbers in the population to be shown in hospital admissions.
The time interval between infections and hospital admissions means that admissions are expected to proceed to rise in the coming days despite of the number of cases.

He added, “I think if they do then at that point we can be much more certain that we’re starting to see, probably, this wave turning round.”
