Dear Sir,
I recently made a purchase of two round trip rail tickets from Dublin to Killarney, costing me €120. Coming from personal experience of having done this journey by automobile, it’s clear that the expenditure for the train ride for a pair of adults is noticeably higher than the cost of fuel to not only travel to and from Killarney but also to cover the Ring of Kerry.
This hefty price for rail travel is certainly not supportive in persuading individuals to rely less on their private cars.
Best Regards,
Darren O’Brien,
Dublin 7.
