Exit without charges

Dear Editor,

Through the silence, the departure of our Prime Minister was announced, with the bells retreating into silence. An unusual quiet prevailed at midday yesterday across the country, as the traditional chiming of the Angelus on the national RTÉ radio was conspicuously absent. His tenure was marked by a time when no bell tolled in his honour.

Yours sincerely,
Eoin Holmes

The title of his work: “The Lost Peace: How the West failed to prevent a second Cold War by Richard Sakwa”, provides an intricate narrative of a squandered chance.
