This week, Aldi is showcasing two wines specially selected for the summertime. It’s uncommon for me to highlight wines priced below €7, as they often lack worthy value. But the Soave presented here is an outlier. The Unearthed Custoza from Aldi, – which has featured in past – and shares a border with Soave, is a notch higher in quality but is €2 dearer.
This summer, Aldi’s rosé wine selection is commendable. Alongside the La Bonne Vie, keep an eye out for the Unearthed Chiaretto di Bardolino (€9.99), the Costa Toscano (€8.99), and the Coteaux de Beziers (€8.99).
Castellore Soave 2023
It offers a fresh, uncomplicated, and clear flavour of pear and green apple fruits with a dry finish. It is best enjoyed alone or combined with light fish and salads. It contains 11% alcohol by volume, and costs €6.99.
Specially Selected La Bonne Vie Rosé 2023, Pays d’Oc
It’s a light, rejuvenating wine with delicate hints of raspberry and strawberry fruits. It’s the perfect selection for sipping poolside, or when enjoyed with summer salads and salmon dishes. It contains 12.5% alcohol by volume, and retails at €9.49.
