Ex-prisoner stabbed in Cork

An individual in his third decade of life was urgently transported to the hospital after suffering a knife attack just outside a cafe positioned at the Grand Parade in the heart of Cork city during this evening. The stabbed man, who is no stranger to the police, was assailed by a solitary male assumed to be in his second decade of life, post 5pm on this Friday. The wounded man was transported via emergency vehicle to the Cork University Hospital, where his medical status is now reported as stable. The area of the assault is being kept intact for expert scrutiny and inquiries are still in progress.

The victim carries a legal record of 73 convictions and his residence was the site of an attempt just the prior month. A criminal act involving property damage took place at his dwelling in Shanakiel, around 5.40pm on the 23rd of August of the previous month.

After completing an eight-year stint at the Castlerea Prison in County Roscommon, the individual was released in the prior month.
