Ex-Christian Brother Faces Dublin Abuse Charges

Jack Manning, an 87-year-old ex-Christian Brother, is facing 60 counts of child sex abuse from the 1970s involving six purported victims. The Dublin Circuit Criminal Court offered him legal aid when his case was presented on Friday.

Judge Martin Nolan approved the request presented by Solicitor Donough Molloy from Sheehan and Partners, setting the arraignment date for the 11th of June.

Mr Manning, presently residing in a Dublin nursing home and had to attend the court in a wheelchair, is accused of indecent assault on the alleged victims occurring during the early to mid-1970s at the Westland Row Christian Brothers School located at South Cumberland Street, Dublin 2.
