World Superbike Yamaha rider Eugene Laverty just got the one-upmanship against MotoGP’s Jorge Lorenzo on the social networks.
Lorenzo, known as an avid social media fan, even just to say good morning or good night in three or four languages, will probably kick himself for not coming up with Laverty’s idea, by launching his own personal iPhone ‘app’.
Laverty’s app is priced at £1.
19, and will allow his fans to keep up to date with results, blog, videos, personal news, access to official Yamaha press releases, the racing calendar with circuit information.
“The plan is that it will be updated at least three times over race weekends, so users can jump in at any time and see how we’re doing on the track.
It’s an extension of my website, but something that you can access anytime, wherever you are in the world,” said Laverty.
Fans can also get involved says Laverty, “The fan page has been created so users can take a snapshot of where they are and post it straight up.
We hope that in a few years we will have a photograph from every country in the world.
It’s designed to be interactive and a bit of fun.
