All qualifying sessions at Estoril have been delayed due to a heavy rain storm.
The Race Direction is expected to make a decision regarding the sessions for all three classes around 14:30 pm local time.
MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi hasn’t even donned his leathers and speaking to Italia 1, expects that the rain won’t let up and all the sessions will be cancelled and combined practice times will be used for tomorrow’s starting grids, while Marco Simoncelli believes if the rain does let up, the standing puddles will make the track, which has drainage problems, very difficult to ride on.
UPDATE:As predicted by Valentino Rossi, the Race Direction has cancelled all qualifying sessions and combined practice times will be tomorrow’s starting grid for all classes.
In MotoGP Jorge Lorenzo will be on pole position followed by Nicky Hayden, Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner and Ben Spies.
Moto2 will see Gabor Talmacsi in pole and in 125cc Bradley Smith.
The last time that an entire qualifying session was rained out was in 2009 at Motegi.
