“Erisbeg-backed ORS Acquires Naas Fire Consultancy”

Commercial property design firm ORS, which is now mainly owned by Erisbeg since the previous year, has acquired Naas-based fire safety consultancy, ProFire & Design. ORS, headquartered in Mullingar and currently under the management of John Brennan, has seen considerable growth in recent years. As affirmed in a Wednesday announcement, the group’s revenues have surged by 300 per cent since 2022, reaching an annual €25 million, as they focus on further expansion.

The exact details of the transaction were not revealed. However, this new acquisition, the fourth since the private equity company’s majority stake acquisition in ORS in 2023, solidifies ORS’s standing as one of the most substantial fire safety and disability access consultation firms within the Republic.

Ray Cuddihy founded ProFire in 2001. It is a consultancy offering guidance to construction companies on fire safety building regulations. With the introduction of stricter regulations this year due to the implementation of new building regulations, there is a promising prospect to explore more opportunities within the fire safety consultancy market, as indicated by Cuddihy.

Highlighting the vital role of their improved capabilities amidst legislative changes for their clients and the broad construction industry, ORS’s managing director Brennan said: the assimilation of ProFire’s expertise guarantees we can offer top-tier, innovative services that assist our clients in effectively navigating new regulations and adhering to the highest safety and compliance standards.

In line with Erisbeg’s emphasis on creativity and providing value to clients, partner Andrew Murphy saw the procurement and previous market ventures. He reiterated that integrating ProFire’s knowledge ensures they can offer top-level, resourceful services that support their clients in effectively traversing the new norms and upholding the stiffest safety and adherence standards.

Erisbeg, a project of Alan Kerr and Thomas Davy, formerly with Blackstone and DCC respectively, was established in 2017. The firm successfully accumulated €110 million from a variety of Irish and international institutional investors, including AIB. Since its inception, the company has made investments in 24 businesses in the Republic, with Eolas Recruitment being one of its more recent acquisitions.
