Enhancing Access through Electronic Formats

Dear Editor,
As a devoted reader, I am somewhat confounded by the discrepancy between the inclusivity principles you promote in your editorials, and the obstacles faced while using your digital platform.
Your journal has always been an advocate for diversity, fairness and inclusion. However, the reality conveyed by the limited text resizing options of your mobile application, as well as poor contrast adjustment settings and rudimentary screen reader support, contradicts this mission.
There is an unintentional but significant oversight in your digital outreach, leading to the exclusion of those readers who suffer from visual impairments. It’s worth noting the considerable progress made in the arena of digital accessibility by other publishers and indeed, your international peers.
Regards,
Stephen Walsh, Newport, Co Tipperary.
