Elevated heat is set to make a comeback from the middle of the week

Met Éireann forecasts improvements in the week’s weather, starting off with temperate, if not somewhat chilly conditions for this season, as Tuesday begins. Throughout the upcoming days, the prediction is for temperatures gradually escalating up to 23 degrees on Thursday amid increasing sunlight, with a negligible setback on Friday, followed by favourable sunny weather during the weekend.

The majority of regions witnessed a dry start to Tuesday, despite the dense cloud cover and traces of light rainfall, predominantly influencing Ulster due to the cold northerly winds. However, the forecast predicts the expansion of sunny intervals across the nation, culminating in a warm and bright evening in most areas, with the thermometer likely to hit a high of 19 degrees during sunny spells.

Tuesday evening is anticipated to be crisp and clear with the mercury dipping as low as 4 degrees and as high as 9 degrees, served with a side of gentle northwesterly breezes.

The weather is set to take a turn for the better starting Wednesday, as per Met Éireann, as it predicts temperatures soaring up to 21 degrees, with the most prominent sunshine away from the Atlantic coasts, which might witness some haze.

Thursday is expected to haul in some of the finest weather of the summer, complete with warmly hazy sunshine served in light south-west breezes, with temperatures possibly hitting a high of 22 degrees, particularly in regions away from the Atlantic coast.

The forecast for Friday night sees the arrival of some rain from the Atlantic, but the weekend promises to be primarily dry, garnished with bouts of sunshine, although regions closer to the Atlantic may experience more cloud cover. The mercury is expected to peak between 16 and 23 degrees, with Sunday likely being the warmest, particularly across the midlands, south and east.
