“Electric Picnic 2024: New Acts Added”

This year’s Electric Picnic line-up welcomes 10 new entrants, including CMAT, Lankum, and Bambie Thug. Other fresh inclusions such as The Stranglers, Loreen, Villagers, Blindboy, daydreamers, Cardinals and Zimmer90 have also been disclosed. The festival is marked for the weekend between 16th and 18th August.

Available tickets for the 2024 festival were rapidly purchased within an hour of their release, and approximately 75,000 music aficionados are expected to converge to Stradbally, Co Laois, in a span of six weeks.

Ireland’s participant for the 2024 Eurovision, Bambie Thug, is slated to make their debut performance in Ireland since finishing sixth in the Eurovision competition at the Electric Picnic, on the same day as top-billing artist Kylie Minogue. This is noteworthy because their sixth-place finish is Ireland’s best since 2000 and the first time in the top 10 since Jedward in 2011. Two-time Eurovision champion Loreen will also perform, delighting Eurovision devotees.

Lankum gets their first shot at the Electric Picnic festival after securing the Choice Music Prize earlier this year. On the other hand, pop sensation CMAT comes back following her most recent stint in 2022. Another much-anticipated performance will be from Ivor Novello winner, Villagers, known for their unique blend of folk, pop, and rock. Meanwhile, The Stranglers will be observing their 50th-anniversary tour at the same time as the festival marks its 20th.

Blindboy is also expected to return for a special podcast section, having been a previous staple of the Electric Picnic’s Mindfield line-up.

Headlining the Friday and Saturday are Noah Kahan and Calvin Harris respectively, with other performers such as Gerry Cinnamon, Raye, Peggy Gou, Nas, Kasabian, and Faithless also confirmed to be present. Joining them will be Irish acts Kodaline, Jazzy, Kneecap, The Scratch, Damien Dempsey and the Wolfe Tones.

As the song Murder on the Dancefloor garners attention again after featuring in the film Saltburn, singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor is slated to perform. Other high-profile acts announced previously for this event comprise Tom Grennan, J Hus, Teddy Swims, The Waterboys, Dean Lewis, Moncrieff, Amble, Ryan McMullan, Kojaque, and Jessie Murph.
