“Elderly Woman’s Murder Investigation in Nenagh”

Following the discovery of a woman’s body in her 80s in Nenagh, County Tipperary, law enforcement officials initiated a murder investigation. The woman, identified by locals as Josephine Ray, was discovered lifeless at her St Joseph’s Park residence right after midday on Sunday. Despite the swift response of the emergency services, she was declared deceased when they arrived at the scene.

Ms. Ray’s body was transported to University Hospital Limerick for examination by Deputy State Pathologist, Dr Yvonne McCartney, who confirmed on Monday that the death was indeed suspicious. The Gardaí have kept the autopsy results undisclosed due to ongoing operations.

An investigation room at Nenagh Garda Station has since been established, marking the commencement of a thorough murder probe into Ray’s death. It’s commonly believed that there are multiple angles to the case under investigation.

A Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) is appointed to oversee the investigation process, and a Garda Family Liaison Officer (FLO) is tasked with providing support to Ray’s family, who are prominent figures in the Nenagh community.

An Garda Síochána has issued a plea for witnesses, specifically those who were present in the vicinity of St Joseph’s Park, Nenagh, from 8 pm last Saturday to midday Sunday. Moreover, anyone with video evidence, including dash cam footage of motorists in the mentioned area within the given timeframe, has been urged to get in touch with investigative officers.

The public is encouraged to share any relevant information concerning the incident by contacting Nenagh Garda Station on (067) 50450, the confidential Garda line at 1800 666 111, or any other Garda station.
