An elderly lady in her 80s tragically passed away after being hit by a car in Carlow. The accident happened at 4.30pm on Thursday in a parking area at Presentation Place, which is located directly opposite Carlow Cathedral in the town of Carlow. The local police, also known as Gardaí, are seeking any witnesses to the fatal accident. Carlow Garda station’s superintendent, Anthony Farrell confirmed that the woman’s life was claimed after a vehicle hit her, and the Gardaí are currently pursuing an investigation into the incident.
For more detailed understanding of the situation, a postmortem will be conducted at the University Hospital Waterford (UHW), and all the necessary documents will be submitted to the coroner’s office.
